Please join us on June 1, 2013 as the Body of Christ comes together to serve in the city of Massillon. Various churches, ministries, and local businesses are forming teams to bless the residents of the Tremont Southwest neighborhood in Massillon.  If you have a desire to serve, there is a place for you in this project.  In our service, we hope to convey the extravagant love that God has for each and every one of us!

You must be 18 years or older to register, or be accompanied by a Parent or Guardian who will register on your behalf.  We are permitting only one registrant per form.  Upon completing registration, you will have the option of purchasing our newly designed C.O.O.L. T-Shirt for this year’s project.

PLEASE NOTE: Deadline for volunteer registration is May 13.

In partnership with Montage Ministries, the C.O.O.L. Project will be reaching out to the city of Massillon this year.  This will be a one-day ministry event involving over 50 area churches.  We will be working together to transform the Tremont Southwest neighborhood through the gift of practical service.  This is a multi-generational outreach, so volunteers of all ages are welcome.  We love to see families getting involved together in whatever capacity they feel called to serve.  The larger areas of need may call for expertise in carpentry, landscaping, roofing, and concrete work; however, there is a job for everyone.  Beyond cleaning up a neighborhood, this is a “heart transformation” project.  We are the hands and feet of God’s extravagant love to express how much He values each and every one of us! Begin praying for the city of Massillon!

Prayer Walks

Prayer Walks are happening in the Tremont Southwest neighborhood of Massillon for this year’s C.O.O.L. Project!  They will be taking place each Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday right up until C.O.O.L. Day, June 1.

Kristin Aull, Director of Children’s Ministry at JFC, said, “Wow, what a great time! Our wonderful volunteers stuffed 2800 eggs, donated 400 prizes, ran 9 games, greeted people, brought live animals and performed a puppet show!”

The highlight of the event was a time in the Sanctuary where the true story of Easter was presented in a fun and engaging way to the youngsters (and their parents).

The JFC Puppet Team greeted the families with music celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Also, a hilarious and intriguing video was presented, explaining Easter from the kids’ point of view. Watch the video here:

Kristin Aull summed up the event by saying, “Members of our church mixed with a large number of visitors and lots of candy was consumed. It was a wonderful event. Many thanks to everyone who helped us build this bridge to our community! Let’s pray that the seeds planted would bear much fruit!”

Here’s what you do:

• Pick up some ”You’ve Been Gifted” cards at the church’s welcome centers
• Pray for opportunities to share God’s love in surprising ways
• When you see a need, don’t wait… MEET IT!
  • Bag somebody’s groceries
  • Shovel somebody’s driveway
  • Pay for somebody’s latte
  • Leave an extra-big tip
  • Wash somebody’s car
  • Watch your neighbor’s kids so they can go out on a date
  • Give a gift to your favorite cause in the name of a friend or family member
  • Drive somebody to do their errands
  • Give everybody in your neighborhood 9-volt batteries for the smoke detectors
  • Bake cookies and take them to the nearest fire station as a gift to our firefighters
  • Go to a local park and give away hot chocolate to the hikers
• When you serve somebody, smile, give them a ”You’ve Been Gifted” Card, and say, “You’ve been gifted!”
• Let it go at that… Just go your merry way.
  • If they ask why you are doing it, simply say, “Our church is showing God’s love by giving surprising gifts to people, because God’s love has no strings attached. He loves us and gave his son Jesus as the greatest gift of all.”

You were made for a personal relationship with God and our desire is to provide a place where you can come to know His Son, Jesus Christ, grow in your relationship with Him, and learn to serve Him daily.

We have three worship services – one at 9:00 am (Blended), and two at 11:00 am (Celebration and Current). In between those service times at 10:00 am, we have our Life Group Hour, in which we offer classes for all ages and interests. Classes are not only offered for children, but there are many groups in which adults get to know each other as they grow deeper in their relationship with God through Christ.
